Itinerary at a Glance
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli
Morning pick-up in Nairobi and drive south through the Kajiado plains towards the Tanzanian border. Check in at your lodge, enjoy lunch, then head out on an afternoon game drive with Kilimanjaro on the horizon.
Day 2: Full Day Amboseli Game Drive
Start early, when the mountain is usually at its clearest. Spend the day around the swamps where elephants, buffalo, hippos and water birds gather, and climb Observation Hill for a view across the whole park.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Return to Nairobi
One last game drive at sunrise, then breakfast and check-out. Drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon or early evening.
Good to Know Before You Go
Best time to visit
Amboseli is good all year. The dry months, June to October and January to February, bring animals close to the swamps and give the best game viewing. November is short rains season, with greener plains, fewer vehicles and lower resident rates.

Seeing Kilimanjaro
The mountain is often covered by cloud during the day. Your best chance of a clear view is early morning and late afternoon, which is exactly when your game drives are planned. Keep your camera ready on Day 2's sunrise drive.

Are park entry fees included in the Amboseli package?
No. Amboseli is a Kenya Wildlife Service park, and entry fees are paid directly to KWS. We will confirm the current resident fees for your travel dates when you book.
How long is the drive from Nairobi to Amboseli?
The drive usually takes about four to five hours, depending on traffic and stops along the way.
Can I pay for the safari in instalments?
Yes. Lipa mdogo mdogo is available, so you can pay in instalments before your travel date. Talk to our team for a payment plan that suits you.
Can I book a private vehicle for my family or group?
Yes. Tell us your group size and travel dates and we will confirm the best vehicle option and price for you.
Do you have rates for children and solo travellers?
Yes. Child rates and single room rates vary by lodge. Send us your group details and we will share an exact quote.
